Anni and Ben’s wedding. Oh my, I just don’t know where to start since my heart is just filled with warmness when I think about them and their wedding day. First of all Anni and Ben is a Finnish- British couple who lives in London and was going to get married in Finland since Anni is from Finland. My heart was literally beating fast when I received their mail with this info. Why was that? Because my parents are Finnish- British and got married in Finland while living in England.  And that’s right; I’m a mixture of Finnish and British while having both nationalities.

We started the wedding day slowly. Anni and her bridesmaids got their hair and makeup done, while Ben hang out with his best man and closest friends. I caught up Ben in the morning where he was finishing his speech and the surprise was going to be that for some sentences he would speak in Finnish! It was a big relieve in the air, since we arrived at the venue already the day before and the rain was just pouring down. Now the weather was sunny with mixture of white clouds. After Ben and others had left (he and Anni would be seeing each other first time at the ceremony), it was time to dress Anni by her bridesmaids and her mother watching.

The ceremony was held outside the venue where the wedding celebration would take place. Around 60 British people had flown to Finland for the wedding, even couple from America.  The ceremony itself was spoken in Finnish and English and quite soon Anni and Ben had said ”I do” and where married! After congratulations, it was time to leave for wedding portraits.

”Well, I never thought I would hike on my wedding day.” said Ben while we were hiking. He and Anni had wished that Finland’s nature would be shown in the wedding portraits. The day before the wedding I took a walk around and found this spot after a 20 minutes hike up a hill. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I can’t explain how incredible it is to photograph in places that are just made for the couple and which you find by just wondering around. These are the moments I will never forget.

The party itself held many great moments. Ben’s grandparents weren’t able to travel to Finland, but they got the chance to see the wedding by FaceTime and greeting their grandchild. One of the funniest moments was that the bridesmaids and Anni had left their bottoms marks on paper and Ben was suppose to guess witch of them was Anni’s!

Congratulation Anni and Ben, it was so amazing to be part of your day!
